You are an early-career cybersecurity professional passionate about protecting critical systems and learning from experienced SOC analysts. We are seeking a Tier 1 Analyst to support enterprise SOC operations by monitoring and analyzing security events and assisting in the early stages of incident detection. This role serves as the first line of defense in identifying, triaging, and escalating security events within a dynamic operational environment.

Role Expectation

Individual contributor representing the most common entry point for technical employees; works under direct supervision. Resolves technical problems that are typically not difficult or complex. Works under supervision on less complex projects or assignments.

What You\'ll Be Doing

  • Monitor, review, and analyze system alerts and network activity for indicators of potential threats.
  • Identify suspicious events and escalate as needed to Tier 2 analysts.
  • Document incidents, findings, and recommended actions in ticketing and tracking systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of incident reports and security summaries.
  • Support maintenance of SOC documentation, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous monitoring initiatives and improvements to detection workflows.
  • Learn and apply core cybersecurity tools and methodologies through hands-on SOC experience.

What You Need to Know

  • Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, network monitoring, and incident response.
  • Familiarity with SOC operations, SIEM tools, or log analysis platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow in a structured cybersecurity environment.

Must Have\'s

  • Bachelor\'s degree or 3 additional years of relevant experience (education or internship experience accepted).
  • Foundational understanding of network security and cybersecurity tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a desire to learn from senior team members.
  • Applicants must currently hold and maintain an active Secret clearance.
  • Remote position.
