<p>Mackinnon Bruce are partnered with an innovative and rapidly growing laboratory technology manufacturer that is transforming the way life science researchers automate complex workflows.</p><p><br></p><p>By combining advanced laboratory automation with a customer-centric approach, the company helps leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology and academic laboratories increase efficiency, improve reproducibility and accelerate scientific discovery through integrated automation solutions.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p><p>Our client is now seeking a Field Automation Scientist to support customers across the US.<strong> </strong>This is a highly technical, customer-facing role focused on commissioning advanced laboratory automation systems, optimising customer applications, and ensuring successful implementation of integrated workflow solutions.</p><p><br></p><p>Working alongside engineering, applications and commercial teams, you will become the technical expert customers rely on throughout installation, training and ongoing application support while helping laboratories maximise the value of their automation investment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the installation, integration testing and site acceptance of advanced laboratory automation systems.</li><li>Deliver comprehensive customer training following system installation and commissioning.</li><li>Support customers in developing, optimising and implementing automated laboratory workflows.</li><li>Act as the technical expert for automation software, workflow configuration and system-level troubleshooting.</li><li>Provide both remote and on-site technical support for complex laboratory automation applications.</li><li>Collaborate closely with internal engineering, service and commercial teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.</li><li>Document technical issues, solutions and customer interactions within the CRM system.</li><li>Provide customer feedback and field insight to support continuous product and application improvements.</li><li>Travel throughout the US and Canada, with occasional international travel, to support customer installations and applications.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Candidate Expectations</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in the life science or related area; an advanced degree is advantageous.</li><li>Proven experience in applications, field service or technical support for complex laboratory automation systems.</li><li>Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and day-to-day laboratory practices.</li><li>Experience programming in Python or another modern programming language would be a plus.</li><li>Excellent troubleshooting skills across integrated laboratory automation platforms.</li><li>Outstanding communication and customer engagement skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.</li><li>Self-motivated, solutions-focused and comfortable managing multiple customer projects simultaneously.</li><li>Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with approximately 50% travel.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What's on Offer</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive salary with performance bonus.</li><li>Comprehensive healthcare and retirement benefits.</li><li>Opportunity to join an innovative organisation at the forefront of laboratory automation.</li><li>Exposure to cutting-edge automation technologies and complex customer applications.</li><li>Significant customer interaction with opportunities to influence future product development.</li><li>Home-based role with a preferred location in the US Midwest.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>If you are interested and would like to discuss further, please apply or reach out to me directly at elliot.green@mackinnon-bruce.com</p>
